Josué & Louis of Los Domingueros
Los Domingueros was started by Josué Urrutia in August of 2021. Some bands start by accident. We literally did.
In June of 2021, Josue survived an accident that put him on a soul searching journey. At the time he was playing and singing at parties and local Latin dance events, while going live on Facebook for friends and family to pass the time. When an opportunity came to venture into playing at a local venue, Josue thought he was booked as a solo artist and good to go. The venue owner told him he wanted to book a band so Josue quickly assembled some musician friends and they pulled together to perform for this first gig. Afterwards, this sparked a fire and he immediately started the search for a drummer and guitar player to form an official band.
From there, Los Domingueros was born. Combining the love of Latin dance and ska, under Josue’s lead a unique band was created that transcends genres, music scenes, and has quickly become one of New Mexico’s hottest tickets. In the short time together, they have played with local legends such as Mickey Cruz, Nosotros, Baracutanga, the Riddims, Reviva, Keith Sanchez, and Hooks and the Huckleberries to name a few. Their success has led them to share the stage with national acts like Through The Roots, Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra, Frontera Bugalu, Da Terra Meiga as well as legendary international bands such as The Toasters and The English Beat. They have Even Been the backing band for grammy nominayted artist Amalia Mondragon.Los Domingueros musical variety, bilingual fluency, and diversity allows them the flexibility to play with almost any band or genre. Live shows are a combination of original music by front-man Josue, along with high-energy, unique spins on well-known Latin, ska and reggae classics.
